Who Needs a Bus Driver Medical Exam?
Driving a bus in Ontario comes with significant responsibility, including meeting the province's medical standards to ensure you can operate a commercial vehicle safely.

What Happens During the Medical Exam?
The examination is designed to determine whether you meet the MTO’s medical requirements for commercial drivers.
Your approved panel physician will typically review your medical history, discuss current medications, measure your blood pressure, check height and weight, perform a physical examination, assess vision and hearing, evaluate your cardiovascular and neurological systems, and review any chronic medical conditions.

Vision and Hearing Requirements
Ensuring the safe operation of a commercial bus depends heavily on your ability to see and hear potential hazards whilst operating the vehicle.

How Often Is the Medical Exam Required?
